Introducing the Design Center
The purpose of the Design Center is to build a culture of collaborative creativity and brand guardianship that empowers people to use great design and design-thinking, which will in turn create human-centered products, services, interactions, and brand communications.

The Design Center will be replacing the Identity Center and Image Library. But it's not just a new site. This home for all things design is the first step in a long-term vision for building a culture of design within Mastercard, starting with a focus on the evolution of our brand identity. Here are some key points to help you understand where we are and where we're headed.

When we say design, we're not talking about making things look pretty. Design, for us, is collaborative, inclusive, and multidisciplinary. It considers the what as much as the how. It applies to the way we drive product innovation as much as it does to branded communications.
We care about this because in today's world, good design is good business. It inspires us to create things that people want, and deliver them in a way that differentiates us from our competitors. It also correlates with trust and the perception of value in the minds of customers and consumers. Great design will not only elevate our brand, but drive more innovative products and services, and better consumer experiences. And that's definitely good for our business.

You don't have to be a designer to want to visit the Design Center. Whether you're responsible for driving a specific product initiative, approving a marketing campaign, or an employee who just creates PowerPoint presentations, there's something here for you.

How do I manage the brand identity transition?
It's never easy breaking old habits. But we're asking everyone in the company to contribute to a global effort in harmonizing our brand identity. In doing so, we ask that you and your team:
Become deeply familiar with the Brand Design Style Guide. This will be your first step in understanding the system
Look at work using the new design system to help you understand what "on brand" looks like
Share work for high-touch or strategic efforts to get feedback. We will recognize those who put something awesome out into the world
How can I learn about updates or be a part of the community?
